Expected results
The Ukrainian legislation on mining waste should be brought into line with the provisions of Directive 2006/21/EU on waste management in the extractive industry.
The state of adaptation of Ukrainian legislation and cooperation with the EU
Provisions of Directive 2006/21/EU are expected to be implemented by amending the legislation after the adoption of the National Waste Management Strategy for Ukraine
In order to implement the provisions of Directive 94/22/EU of 30 May 1994 on the conditions for the issuance and use of permits for prospecting, exploration and production of hydrocarbons, on March 2, 2016 on the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on making changes to the procedure for holding auctions for the sale of special permits to use subsoil (CMU Resolution dated May 30, 2011, No. 594) was adopted, as well as the procedure for granting special permits for the use of subsoil (CMU Resolution dated May 30, 2011, No. 615) for the purpose of assuring transparency in permits issuance and auctions.
