Lviv will receive 12 million euros from the European Investment Bank to upgrade the tram fleet

Lviv will receive 12 million euro loan from the European Investment Bank (EIB) in order to purchase 10 new energy-efficient trams as part of the project "Ukraine public transport project". The goal of the project is to improve public transport infrastructure in Ukraine.  Another 8.8 million euro will be additionally financed from the city budget.

"We continue to work on the renewal of public transport parks in various cities of Ukraine in cooperation with the EIB and local authorities. The first contracts have already been signed in Lutsk, Kharkiv and Sumy for the purchase of modern and convenient trolleybuses. The next step is the implementation of a project to purchase trams in Lviv. I am grateful to our partners for their cooperation and support. Modern public transport should be environmentally friendly, comfortable and should work for people, " said the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii.

The contract for the renewal of the tram fleet in Lviv was signed on September 2, 2020.
