Ukrainian vaccination certificates will allow to travel to the EU without visa

Ukrainian certificates of COVID-19 vaccination will enable citizens to travel to the European Union within the framework of the visa-free regime.

This was discussed during a joint meeting of Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine Olha Stefanishyna, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxym Stepanov and representatives of a number of other institutions.

"Free movement is one of the key freedoms within our European integration and the EU-Ukraine visa-free travel. Therefore, Ukraine was the first to apply to the European Commission to agree on the compatibility of the Ukrainian and European digital COVID-19 immunity certificates. We have officially started this dialogue and work is currently underway. Decisions need to be made quickly so that Ukrainians can travel freely to the EU this summer," Olha Stefanishyna stressed.

The main parameters of vaccination certificates have already been shaped by the Ministry of Digital Transformation. When drawing up a document, of course, preference will be given to e-form, in particular to the format of the QR-code. In this case, all personal data will be securely protected.

"The Ministry of Education will be responsible for the technical part of the development: display and validation of COVID-19 vaccination certificates through the Diia (Action) portal. We will make obtaining and using the certificate as safe, fast and convenient for all citizens as possible. So that Ukrainians amid pandemic could minimize social contacts and do not spend time on additional visits to doctors to get documents ", Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov underscored.
