Verkhovna Rada Appoints Taras Kachka as Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine

On July 17, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appointed Taras Kachka as Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine. The decision was supported by 253 Members of Parliament.
Since 2019, Taras Kachka has served as Deputy Minister of Economy of Ukraine – Trade Representative of Ukraine.
At the Ministry of Economy, Taras Kachka coordinated the development of proposals and the implementation of decisions concerning:
– the formation and implementation of state policy on Ukraine’s cooperation with the EU in the field of economy and trade, a unified foreign economic policy, integration of the national economy into the global economy, and cooperation with the WTO;
– ensuring the protection of the economic rights and legitimate interests of national producers;
– Ukraine’s export development strategy.
In addition, he provided functional guidance, coordination, and oversight of the work of:
– the Department of Economic Cooperation with the European Union and Countries of the World;
– the Department of Trade Agreements;
– the Department of Foreign Economic Activity and Trade Defence;
– the Sector for Organisational and Analytical Support of the Deputy Minister – Trade Representative of Ukraine.
