Trade and trade-related matters
This section provides information related to trade relations between Ukraine and the EU.
The section of the European Integration Portal dedicated to this direction is the largest of all in the context of the implementation of the Association Agreement.
Below is information on the progress of the implementation of commitments under the Association Agreement on the functioning of the free trade area and implementation of Title IV of the Association Agreement.
An important part of the section is an Information guide on trading.
Free trade area
The European Union is the largest trade partner of Ukraine. The EU share in the foreign trade of goods of Ukraine is 41,3%.
EU Trade Helpdesk
Given that the European Union (EU) is the world's largest common market, many entrepreneurs from around the world, including Ukraine, seek to export their products to the EU. However, sometimes potential exporters lack information on how to export in accordance with EU regulations and requirements.
Implementation of the Title IV of the Agreement
The provisions of this Chapter of the Association Agreement define the "Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area" Ukraine-EU (FTA). The FTA provides for the liberalization of trade in both goods and services, the liberalization of the movement of capital and, to a certain extent, the movement of labor.
A distinctive feature of the Ukraine-EU FTA is a comprehensive program of adaptation of regulatory norms in trade-related areas to the relevant EU standards. This will make it possible to largely eliminate non-tariff (technical) barriers in trade between Ukraine and the EU and provide expanded access to the EU internal market for Ukrainian exporters and vice versa — for European exporters to the Ukrainian market. Thus, an in-depth and comprehensive FTA should ensure the gradual integration of Ukraine's economy into the EU's internal market.
