Dialogue on Intellectual Property Rights
In accordance with Article 4 of the Association Agreement, political dialogue should be developed and strengthened between the Parties in all areas of mutual interest. In particular, this concerns the strengthening of respect for democratic principles, the rule of law and good governance, human rights and fundamental freedoms, including the rights of persons belonging to national minorities, non-discrimination of persons belonging to minorities and respect for diversity, as well as the contribution in the consolidation of internal political reforms.
The dialogue on human rights creates conditions for a detailed exchange of views on the situation with human rights in Ukraine and on the country’s obligations to achieve stable progress in this area, in particular, regarding full compliance with the norms of international law in the field of human rights.
Meetings within the framework of the Dialogue are held annually. Since the signing of the Association Agreement, five meetings have been held. The next meeting of the Human Rights Dialogue between Ukraine and the EU is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
