Association Bodies Dialogues Dialogue on Human Rights

Dialogue on Human Rights

According to Article 4 of the Association Agreement, political dialogue between the Parties should be developed and strengthened in all areas of mutual interest. This includes strengthening respect for democratic principles, the rule of law and good governance, human rights and fundamental freedoms, including the rights of persons belonging to national minorities, non-discrimination against persons belonging to minorities and respect for diversity, as well as contributing to the consolidation of domestic political reforms.

The Dialogue on Human Rights creates conditions for a detailed exchange of views on the human rights situation in Ukraine and on the country’s obligations to make steady progress in this area, in particular with regard to full compliance with international human rights law.

Meetings within the framework of the Dialogue are held annually. Five meetings have been held since the signing of the Association Agreement. The next meeting of the Dialogue on Human Rights between Ukraine and the EU is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
