Civil Society Platform

  • Role:

    ensuring that civil society has an impact in the process of implementation of the Association Agreement.

  • Composition:

    consists of 15 members - representatives of various sectors of civil society - public associations, trade unions and employers' organizations, which are approved by the Assembly of the CSP Board in accordance with the Regulations.

WHAT IS THE UKRAINIAN SIDE OF THE CIVIL SOCIETY PLATFORM?

The Ukrainian side of the Ukraine-EU Civil Society Platform (US CSP) is part of the Ukraine-EU Civil Society Platform, created in accordance with Art. 469-470 of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. The CSP is a body consisting of representatives of Ukrainian civil society on the one hand and members of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) on the other.

The Platform is one of the four bodies of the Association along with the Association Council, the Association Committee and the Parliamentary Committee of the Association. While the former represents the government and parliament, the CSP was created to ensure the proper role of the public in the process of implementing the Association Agreement.

 

HOW DOES THE UKRAINIAN SIDE OF THE CIVIL SOCIETY PLATFORM WORK?

The CSP may make recommendations to the Association Council. The Association Committee and the Parliamentary Committee of the Association shall make regular contact with the representatives of the Civil Society Platform in order to obtain their opinion on the achievement of the goals of the Agreement. The chairmanship of the Board of Directors of the PGS is carried out on a rotational basis.
